When God received
His inspiration,
the universe was born
and all of creation

As part of His
amazing plan,
God created
the race of man

And as a very
special treat,
He placed the world
beneath man's feet

He filled man's world
with wondrous things,
the moon, the stars,
the birds that sing

Man thanked Him
by committing sin,
by letting evil
and envy in

God forgave
man's foolishness,
and helped him with
ten easy rules

Man ignored them
and once again,
this beautiful world
was filled with pain

We are all victims
of our own weaknesses,
but God still loves us
for you see

He sent His Son
to lighten our load,
and help those lost
to find the right road

Once again
we hurt our Father,
we killed His Son,
ignored His words

Yet as He died
for sins we committed,
absolution
for all was heard

And once again
we were forgiven,
as Jesus requested
He opened the gates

to all who understood
His message,
thanks to Jesus,
Heaven awaits

For those who are waiting
with hearts filled with tears,
He offers His help
through the gift of prayers

Go to Him
don't hesitate,
He'll lift your burdens
and lighten the weight
