Imagination versus knowledge.
Dreaming through an ancient dream time where the clouds are moving fast and the sky changes to the colors of the rainbow as the eagles fly above guarding the spiritual scene. A giant rainbow serpent glides peacefully from what was the rainbow and makes its way across the land marking strong natural boundaries and creating geographical features of orange and red and purple. The clouds clear to reveal a sunset of extraordinary beauty and the sun, that giant ball of life giving force, sinks to close the dream, but the dream has turned to reality and the dreamer can't believe the gift his imagination has given him, so he starts the journey. Walking into the evening the night takes on different dimensions and the moon rises in unusual glory as if it is smiling on our dreamer. The stars form their patterns of night sky as the sun shines on them and brings them to life. Various constellations appear and our dreamer man recognizes them all and they twinkle so brightly. Suddenly he sees wings forming on his feet like the ancient Greek story of Perseus and he walks faster and they flap taking him high into the night sky where he dreams in reality for an everlasting life. He passed this story onto his children and each generation has retold it adding richness to an already rich story born out of imagination.
Dreaming of his exam the next day, the dreamer almost has nightmare as he realizes his knowledge of the subject won't carry him through. He tries to quell these images using his imagination positively conjuring up images of oceans, mountains, sunsets, sunrises, anything that will calm this pressing need to know things to get on with his life. He even imagines tomorrow won't happen and pictures himself for one brief moment sitting in the desert not having a worry in the world but to catch tonight's dinner of witchetty grubs with goanna. All is to no avail and he wakes into his knowledge based reality the next day and finds himself on a tram to the exam hall. It's like being on a road to his execution, at least that's the way he feels. It's even worse inside as the exam paper appears before his eyes and he realizes he will fail. Fail he does, but only because all through out the study period of learning he couldn't stop his imagination going all round the world to exotic places and meeting the people and learning from them. His fellow students all passed their knowledge tests and ten years down the track found themselves on the treadmill
