Lost and alone

There's a road well traveled into the unknown. Darkness all around, I felt lost and alone.

This road that's paved before me, many fallen by the way. Their burdens they are heavy, and there they lay.

I heard their cries before me, as I tread into the deep. A voice beside me said, "I can't bear it when they weep."

Love and compassion was flowing from His heart. I looked upon His face, He'd been there from the start.

I asked, "Why didn't You help me, before my life became a loss?" He said, "I did all I could do, when I died on the cross."

"Now everything is up to you," as His arms opened wide. "Come, under My wings you shall abide."

He lifted me into His arms, there He held me tight. We fled through the darkness, well into the night.

I thanked Him for finding me and carrying me back home. He turned around and said, "You were never lost, nor alone!"
