Growing Up Numb
Something happened long, long ago.
Or was it imagined? Nobody knows,
Impossible to talk about,
No reason, no rhyme.
But the blockage is real,
And there all the time.
The memories are faded,
Or locked out of sight,
Too scary to look at,
Too difficult to fight.
But where did they go?
Where do they hide?
And will they come out, if I really try?

Frail little flower, the only one around,

I must seem like a fool.
By so many I'm misunderstood.

with every step that I take
