Over the years Oprah has served as the surrogate or stand-in mother not only on television but in every aspect of our lives. Whenever we speak about losing weight, Oprah is part of the conversation. If the word of infidelity slips out from the parting of our lips, Oprah is in the conversation. Not to mention if we are talking about depression or joy- Oprah is a part of the conversation.
Oprah Winfrey is someone many would agree as being the great Mother Goddess. Undifferentiated from the many figures of Mother Goddesses throughout civilizations and time over, Oprah embodies every quality. When she was thin people saw her as the woman with the large giving smile that encouraged us to be the best that we can be. She was the woman who constantly televised every episode from her talk-show throne with her hands held out and her bosom overflowing with support, tips, and suggestions filled with the message of love and hope.
What is true about every Mother Goddess, including Oprah, is the motive force behind all action and existence in the world seem to be carried within her strong stature- whether creative or reproductive.
Oprah's desire to help improve the lives of everyone around her is part of her life story. Born into very modest means, Oprah faced struggles such as rape and molestation, which led her to being placed in a detention home. The detention home her mother wanted to board her in denied her placement and she was then left to live her father where she ended up giving birth to a stillborn at the tender age of 14. Despite such obstacles and her own belief of wanting to create and do better, Oprah finds her meteoric rise with her own television show called People are Talking and now with her well known self-titled Oprah Winfrey Show.
As a consequence of hosting morning and talk shows, Oprah's Goddess power is manifested as a force that galvanizes the divine soil of existence into self-projection onto the cosmos. Women all around have been able to relate with Oprah because of her many struggles of which she has openly and readily shared with her viewing audience. She as Earth Mother knows about all of the earthly struggles women face with work, love, relationships, life, and parenting. Every episode and each philanthropic gesture Oprah makes tends to be devoted in bringing solace to these multifaceted issues.
In 2007 Oprah opened her School for Girls in South Africa representing her desire to manifest the dream of finding the voice that she, as a woman, had found
