Picturesque and scenic, Klamath Falls is a beautiful area that is greatly enhanced when the Snowflake Festival begins in earnest, a time when residents and tourists get into the spirit of the occasion and prepare to enjoy some seasonal entertainment. Should you ever have the good fortune to visit the 'Sunshine City' of Klamath Falls, Oregon during the first week of December when the Christmas holiday season starts, you will have the opportunity to take part in the delightful Snowflake Festival. The festival, organized in the downtown area, is characterized by numerous fun activities and has been a hit with locals and visitors for some 25 years.

Snowflake Contests The festival kicks off with a variety of interesting contests such as essay writing and coloring competitions and a teen pageant. The Ginger Bread house competition and exhibition that lasts until the end of the Snow Flake Festival is organized at the Ross Ragland Theater. These contests encourage participation and get everyone in the mood to have some holiday fun. Snowflake Events The Egyptian Plaza is the venue for the fun filled Snowflake Ball which has varied themes every year. Here you will enjoy events like Wonderland of Trees, exhibitions, dinners and auctions. The city administration organizes a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Veteran's Park in the downtown area where you might meet the city Mayor and Buddy, the cute Panda at the City Hall.

NON-STOP ENTERTAINMENT

Have a blast at the Hawaiian Christmas Party-Mele Kalikimaka Luau- at O'Hana Mama and experience the Hand Bell concert is held at the St Baptist Church. There is also the Snowflake bowling tournament held at the Epicenter Bowling Complex. If you are a pet lover you will want to attend the pet expo where your can learn everything you ever wanted to know about pets. The Baldwin Hotel hosts a Christmas tea as well as a doll show while another regular event of the festival is the antique toy show that is loved by children of all ages. Among all of this you can savor the delicious food provided at local food stalls.

Snowflake Festival Annual Parade The parade is striking with more than 30 floats, performances by gymnasts and marching bands. You can't help but marvel at the splendidly decorated floats and their dazzling shiny lights. A true parade that keeps the party atmosphere high and everyone in holiday mode. Winter Light Spectacular Moore Park is the site for this special event. You will be fascinated by the stunning displays of almost 250 lights and animated displays. The Snowflake Festival has something to offer for the young and the old alike, a real family-oriented event where people return year after year.
