Cheap CDs, DVDs, games and books online in the UK.
When I want to buy a specific product I regularly use price-comparison websites to get the best deals. I also check out websites that I know have good deals on if I just fancy buying something as you never know what you might find.
I would only use ebay if I was looking for a retro product that I just couldn't find anywhere else, otherwise I prefer to have brand new merchandise, especially if I am buying someone a present as you can not be too sure of product quality and authenticity.
With regards to Froogle, in my experience, I find that although it can be helpful I tend to get a lot of unrelated items and that the prices are just plain wrong, this can be really infuriating and can waste a lot of my time.
The best price-comparison websites I have found are as follows:
www.find-cd.co.uk for CDs
www.find-dvd.co.uk for DVDs
www.find-games.co.uk for video games
www.find-book.co.uk (you guessed it) for books
These websites are what I would call RONSEAL websites, it is all in the name, they are all fairly easy to use and can save you a lot of time and money. I know it looks as if I am trying to plug the find- company, I can assure you that I am not, to be honest they don't look as if they are owned by the same company; they all look and behave differently from each other. I was told about the find-dvd' website once and without too much difficulty I found the others through trial and error.
If I am just looking around for potential bargains then I tend to check out the following websites:
www.play.com Choose the relevant bargain section from the home page
www.hmv.co.uk Choose the offers' tab
www.dvd.co.uk Choose the relevant clearance or offer button
www.game.net Check out the deals of the week
Some of these websites, and ones like them, give you the option of signing up for emails to keep you posted on the latest deals.
It is also worth checking out supermarket websites for bargains such as:
http://www.tesco.com/entert ainment/
http://www.asda-entert ainment.co.uk/asda/home.dept
Wh en searching for these bargain buys remember to consider delivery costs, luckily a lot of websites are following an encouraging trend of offering free delivery. Also remember when you are buying a few pieces that when you spend over 15 at www.amazon.co.uk you get free delivery so do not always discount their prices because of delivery costs. I hope this information helps you out as much as it has helped me, especially at Christmas. In fact while writing this article I reminded myself that I wanted to buy Great lies to tell small kids' by Andy Riley for a friend of mine that is due to have a baby, I checked on www.find-book.co.uk and found and bought it for 5.30 (delivered) at www.dvd.co.uk, this saved me 2.69 off the cover price. It took me about two minutes to find and order as I am already registered with dvd.co.uk', and it gets delivered to my door within a few days.
