Songs: Friday night

by Lisa Pickering

Created on: February 14, 2009

Today is the day when it all ends,

so part of me can start to mend.

Frustrations build, stress surrounds,

pulsating head pain a constant pound.

When will I finally be free

when will this job stop torturing me?

An endless week entirely too long,

an incessant feeling that I don't belong.

I just wait for that blessed light,

to take me away from this monotonous plight.

I make this wish with all my might,

that everyday could be Friday night.

Tomorrow is the day that never ends,

I feel my will start to bend.

My soul is sucked right out of me,

blinding me so I can no longer see.

Hours drag by in a pitiful way,

I can't make it to the end of the day.

Trapped by the many restrictions of time,

they constantly toy and play with my mind.

I just want to see an end to this day,

so Friday can come and I can play.

Too much fun always makes me pay,

but where there's a will there's always a way.
