Short stories: Creation

by Kevin Lamb

Created on: February 14, 2009

A huge Nebula cluster rolled and twisted as it turned and collected all of the matter in the known universe. Sweeping in all space and time like a giant vacuum, the Nebula compacted all matter into a pinpoint smaller than a quark. A spirit moved across the heavens as everything was directed by the thoughts and intentions of the spirit. Shapes began to form in the collected matter hundreds of times faster than the speed of light as the giant glass ball began to shake, and then rotate in a circular motion.

Several spirits watched as creation and sentient life was seeded throughout the young and growing new universe. An explosion of light filled the glass ball as a life spirit erupted and seeded the heavens with itself. Now, was the time for life to be formed from the mass of the universe and the spirit itself.

A small spirit looked down into the glass ball and the universe it had just created out of nothing. Higher spirits watched as this young spirit manipulated light and darkness along with gravity as it began to separate matter and form galaxies and star systems. Soon small planets began to take shape inside the growing glass ball of light. Then the glass ball and the universe within it were left alone only to be altered by time, and the young spirit itself.

This young spirit had watched the high spirits create life in many dimensions of light before; but this creation was all its own. Ya-way had been told that it would soon be in total control of this universe when the correct time had come.

Of course this disturbed Ya-way as it had no concept of time. Only the balls of light had a beginning and an end, everything else had always been. Ya-way could not understand anything beginning or ending; so it created. The beginning or an end was only related to time sensitive dimensions within in the balls of creation.

"Have you set everything in an order of its own?" A high spirit mentally asked Ya-way. The answer immediately came back to the high spirit from Ya-way.

"There is a movement," Ya-way replied. The mental conceptions of a diversity of life began to form in Ya-way's mind. The spirits watched as Ya-way created new forms of life in its new ball of light. All of the spirits watched as millions of years melted away at an instant. Solar systems formed and died as other star systems began to take a more formidable hold on their part of the glass ball and its galaxy.

Ya-way soon became sad as it watched what was once a beautiful ball of light begin to destroy itself as
