Songs: Being alone

Recall

Walking down the city street, I saw our old friends last night

They didn't stop, they just waved, well that's all right

I guess they picked your side in this hot mess of our life

Well, that day, you decided, you were no longer my wife

Being alone makes me wonder who I was before

Did I have friends of my own or were they all part of yours

Did I eat cereal for dinner, I don't quite recall

Well, I don't recall - Being alone at all

Lost my way, completely, in this big crazy world

And where's my favorite shirt, you loved to iron and fold

I stumble over sidewalks now, where we used to walk

Now, where's my address to that new apartment I just bought

What's that name, of that guy, that you left me for

You said he brought you flowers and a ring, what a bore

I wrote you a song about us being together, I can't quite recall

Well, I don't recall Being alone at all

So take your flowers and your gold and all your money

I lost my way, but I assure you, I'll get it back someday honey

You'll see he's a fool, and my heart was worth more than you recall

And by then, I won't recall Being alone at all
