It lowers the level of bad cholesterol, prevents hardening of the arterial walls, and stops plaque build-up. These benefits combine together to reduce the risks of heart attacks and strokes. * Cancer-fighting benefits - The antioxidant-rich pomegranates also help fight cancer. They not only prevent cancer, but also reduce existing tumors in the body. Regular intake of pomegranate juice improves the efficacy of cancer treatments including radiation and chemotherapy. It is especially considered to be beneficial in cancers of the prostate, breast, lung, and skin.
* Anti-aging and antimicrobial benefits - The anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties of pomegranates prevent osteoarthritis by reducing inflammation and preventing cartilage damage. How to consume pomegranates?
By now you must be convinced about the health benefits of pomegranates. Now let's consider the different ways you can include it in your diet. The best way to consume pomegranates is to consume the seeds. Just cut the crown, score the fruit on the sides, soak it in a bowl of cold water, and then remove the rind and fleshy membrane to get the seeds. Consume it fresh or freeze it for later use. You can add it to a bowl of fruit salad or use it to garnish your favorite dessert.
You can also try pomegranate juice. The juice will be easily available in your local grocery store. If the taste of the pure juice does not appeal to you, try mixing it with your favorite fruit juice. You can also make cocktails, pomegranate smoothies, or add it to iced tea.
