Technology has enabled us to have a variety of choices for phone service. Just a mere decade ago, the choices for phone service or extremely limited. Long gone are the days of phone operators that recognized your voice as you requested to be patched through to one of your friends are neighbors. How do you decide on the best choices for phone service was so much technology today?

Land Line Phone Service

Even though we have technology, there are still land line phone services available to customers. A land line phone services are essentially the old fashioned type of a phone service that was available prior to cell phones and digital phones.

Landline phone service companies are extremely competitive and offer a variety of services to encourage customers to use their company. You can have a voice message service, call waiting, call identification, freeway calling and even hold options on this type of service.

Cable Line Phone Service

Technology has enabled phone users to take advantage of the cable system. You now can have phone service through a cable line. Some users are opting for this type of phone service as a package deal with their television cable and Internet cable services. Essentially, you have a telephone like you do for the landline phone service but instead of communication running through a land line it runs through a cable line.

Digital Phone Service

Digital phone service is yet another option to use with today's technology. Digital phone service runs through your Internet. Typically with digital phone service you will need a sound card, headset with mike and digital service. You will then make your telephone calls through the Internet on your computer.
You can literally call anyone in the world with digital phone service.

Internet Telephone Service

Another type of phone service available because of today's technology is Internet telephone service. Internet telephone service can be through a specific company where you pay a subscription fee or through an instant messaging service. I prefer the Internet telephone service through an instant messaging program such as Yahoo. There is no subscription fee and you can talk to anyone in the world at any time for no charge.

Mobile Telephone Service

The final phone service option available because of today's technology is the mobile phone service. Mobile phone service is a fancy name for a cell phone. There are many carriers for self on usage or you can use the option of pay as you go for cell phone service. It really depends on how much you'll be using the cell phone.

Today's technology has provided a large assortment of choices for telephone service. Think about the type of phone calls that you make most often and how long you talk. This will enable you to make the best choice for which telephone service or services that you should consider for your communication needs.
