Poetry: Our relationship

The calendar strides on by

I'm still studying you, struggling to determine if I'll dub you mine or not.

It doesn't matter anymore; we're already slipping, or maybe it's just me.

I'll awaken to those eyes all over again

Hopeful they're more open and cobalt

Than the eyes of the aggressor I run from.

Whom I still battle in my thoughts

Wake up together with you

And weep

It always seems like something's falling apart one second

And mended the next day.

What kind of man have you become?

Are you man at all?

And why am I still here

Doubting

Just in the offing

To be left last

When the voices inside my head are all blaring

You're wasting your time

When are you going to go?

    Fall down
    At our door

    Crying

    ~Comfortably Conflicted~

    I'm mad,
    I'm amused
    I'm clear,
    I'm confused
    I'm fine,
    I'm abused

    You're here,
    you're away
    You're good,

    You say we can negotiate
But you want things done your way
You say I can do whatever I want
As long as I do what you say

    You
