High-Definition iPrint:

The Z-View Aberrometer (an instrument by iZon of Ophthonix) is used during the examination to detect microscopic irregularities, or higher order aberrations of the eye that can cause distortions. The distortions often affect depth perception, crispness, contrast, color perception and nighttime vision. Each iPrint is unique, allowing eye glasses to be individual for each user. From this iPrint the manufacturer will correct vision irregularities within the eye glass lens, similar to those corrections made during laser eye surgery.

High-Definition vision, day and night:

High-Definition lenses offer clearer vision during the day and also greater safety while driving at night. In clinical studies High-Definition lens wearers were able to detect a pedestrian in the road, on an average of 20 feet quicker than those wearing conventional lenses.

As people age, night vision becomes a problem and the corrections made in the lenses address the corrections to irregularities of the eyes that cause nighttime light distortions. Visual imperfections in the eye can cause different distortions to the image on the retina. Glare, starbursts and halos around oncoming traffic headlights create hazardous driving conditions. Spherical aberrations affect vision by causing a general defocus or halo effect that cannot be corrected by traditional lenses. Coma can affect vision by creating streaks or a flair of distortion around oncoming traffic. Trefoil can affect vision by distorting the detail of an image with a series of streak or flairs arranged like spokes from the image, producing a starburst like distortion. These imperfections are corrected within the individual lens of High-Definition eye glasses. Older patients wanting to reduce glare or blurring associated with night driving will find the High-Definition lenses beneficial.

Costs of High-Definition vision:

High-Definition eye glass lenses run an average of double the cost of normal prescription lenses. Lenses with no-line bifocals, slight tenting and scratch protection run approximately $360. The High-Definition lenses with no-line bifocals are $600. This price includes tax, tenting and protective scratch coating.

Conclusion:
