What about tomorrow? We take it for granted that we have it and yet it remains one of life's greatest mysteries. When we put our head on our pillow at night do we kiss our loved ones? Have we made peace with everyone that is important in our lives? Did you say "I love you" to that special someone? We can't predict tomorrow but yet we all have that hope to go on and live this beautiful life. We all believe we are going to wake up in the morning; but what if we don't?
We can't go back in time so we must forget the past while learning from our mistakes and failures as we appreciate our successes with hopes and dreams. Our lives are full of so many things such as our health, family, love, careers, income, vacations, and yes let us not forget our monthly bills which we all try so hard to meet these days. We make plans for tomorrow and the future but these plans sometimes are interrupted with life's day to day events in this hectic world we live in. We worry; we care; we have anxieties and yet we still hope for things to always be better for us so we dream for better lives. Hopes and dreams are all we have for tomorrow.
Today we have those same hopes and dreams of improving our lives but we don't appreciate it. We should wake up every morning and first thank God we are alive and then take an inventory of those things that matter the most and they are family and health. Take a few minutes in the morning and appreciate the fact that your family is healthy, at least for today and that thought can make you very happy. We live in very difficult times as we worry about our jobs and the security we no longer have; we worry about finding a job after we've lost one; making ends meet and keeping our homes and feeding our families. These things are all very important but not as important as what you have right at this very moment today. Yes we must struggle to make our lives better but if we focus on all these worries than we wasted this entire day neglecting our health and family because we were so worried about what to do tomorrow or the next day and the next... We all need to plan but we cannot dwell on tomorrow's plans because tomorrow may never come for us and we have no control over it.
Some of us find it very difficult to not worry about something that keeps tugging at our thoughts today. Most of our thoughts are about how we can better our lives. Writing your thoughts in a journal will remove the obsession if you place them onto a piece of paper. After all, if tomorrow does come those problems will still be there on that piece of paper and what did all that worrying today do to solve them? What can I do today even for an hour to appreciate the fact that I am alive? How can I make a difference and put a smile on someone's face and make their day more pleasant?
As I have heard so many times before, tomorrow is gone and may never come; today is a present, a gift. The future will always be a roller coaster and you must always expect the unexpected because that is how life works and you have no control over the future.
Today's time is the most precious and you should use it to the fullest and go to sleep at night with no regrets about what may happen tomorrow, if tomorrow comes. There is nothing standing in your way today to stop you from living life to its fullest, listening to the birds sing or appreciating the beautiful sunrise and sunset. There is nothing stopping you from listening to the children play, helping a needy person, or just being there for those who would love to have just 15 minutes of your time. That is what life is all about and that is what you have today.
