Have you ever felt like things just aren't going your way?
Today's world tends to barge into what should be are happy lives. We as a society are conditioned to be so focused on the future. Our worries include money, education, jobs and many others. In this fast paced environment of trying to get ahead we seldom get to enjoy the beauties of life and the world around us.
There are simple things you can do to enjoy your time here and not worry about tomorrow. Spending precious time with family is probably the most important. Your children are the perfect example of how to live in the moment. It is greatly satisfying to take the kids for a long walk on a great day. A Park is the perfect place to let them play while you as a parent can examine them and learn from them. There is no worry in their eyes for their lives are based only on what's happening now. They only want to be happy. Too many times in our adult lives we deny ourselves happiness. If only we could let go and give into our own desires as a child does. Take time to teach your children about the world around us. Teach them to hear the birds and feel the wind. Nature can be so exhilarating and peaceful as it provides peace and tranquility from our busy work lives.
We spend our entire lives working when we should be living. Obviously you can't just quit your job and do nothing. It definitely would be nice, just not practical. However, we should enjoy our time here because it will not last forever. When we worry so much about what the next day holds we forget about what makes us happy today. This is so unfair to yourself and the rest of the world. You cheat yourself out of precious memories.
God's given us an amazing world to live in. He's also made us as individuals quite amazing and it is our duty to enjoy what was given to us. As we go through our lives we tend to overlook the great things before us. We overlook beautiful scenery, compassionate people and living animals. If we were less focused on what the future holds or what we did in our past we would notice the gifts that are given to us.
Next time you feel the pressures of the day take a step back, a deep breath and think about how great your life is, how great this world is and how awesome your own family is.
