Being a single parent is hard enough in itself. You have to worry about all kinds of things with the children: when they are sick, who watches them, different activities, trying to keep everything organized and doing it all yourself. Sometimes though this all just may be for the best, but one thing you should never have to worry about, single parent or not, is how am I going to pay for the heating bill?
Heat in the winter is essential, it is necessary for survival. Do not think that you are alone or that you are the only one you know that cannot afford to pay for the heating bill, most people are too ashamed to admit that they cannot afford this, and it is not like it is a luxury. Many people are ashamed that they cannot pay their bill, but with the tough economy, alot of people are going through this right now. Would you rather admit that you do not have the money or would you rather freeze to death? Which sounds like the better option?
Ways to get help paying you heating bill are: first, call the heating company and see if you can set something up with them. They understand, they are people too, they know how hard it can get, especially with the way the economy is now. Sometimes they can give you a fixed rate, or other times they can set you u pwith a payment plan. If this does not work, go online. There are websites and companies out there, that if your income is low enough, they will come and fill your oil tank for free at least once or twice and this can help you out. I have friends that have done this and they said it is wonderful. It really helps when you are in a pinch. If these do not sound apprealing, then google it onine and see if there are any other ways or companies that can help. Everyone needs to stay warm, they will not deny you heat, even if you have to pay a small amount each month, it is better than having no heat at all. Keep those kids warm and safe, do not let them freeze!
These are a few ways to help pay the heating bill in the long, cold monhts of winter. It is hard being a single parent, but in the end it will be worth it and you will know it was the right decision made. Just keep your head up and know there is always a way out of a rut! No one should be lelft out in the cold, especially if there are children involved. Ask around, everyone is in some kind of situation like this now and help each other out, there is always a way out.
