Only a fool
Would take the word
Of a fool.
The blind leading the
Blind ain't got nothing
On that.
Only a fool believes
The Promises of a
Prophet;
There's too much at stake
For survival.
Only a fool believes
The lies of a lover;
Flattering guile is potent
Mist sprayed in your eyes.
Only a Fool can entertain a
King; why else would we all
Go to war?
Only a fool would believe
That there is nothing
Greater than ourselves;
Only a fool would chase
Shadows.
But we are not immune
To the strange compulsions of
The moon;
And Fools we are; to be
Brought into the
World as
Fluid as the seas...
