Is living for today more important than worrying about tomorrow?

Crystal balls, Tarot cards, or whatever other gimmick you may use to peek into the next day, should all be tossed into yesterdays trash. There is nothing but irrelevance in discovering what may be in store for you tomorrow. Let fate, destiny and the unbeknownst have their way with your life. This is not to say, don't set any goals in your life. Just remember, in your endeavor to achieve, never let the unattained goals be your destruction. As grand as life, and tomorrow are, neither are promised, and should be left to their own outcomes.

Live life for that day, and don't rely on visions or wishes of another day. All we really need is to be content in our promise to ourselves. That promise should be of hope, in enjoying our day as we did yesterday. Let the day be yours. Don't rush to the ends of anything. Take your time, and make the repetitious, a pleasantry. While commuting or driving to work, take time to enjoy the daily sites along the way. Don't dwell on the monotony of the drive, or the assumptions of your irritating co-worker. Let the joy of your commute, for the moment, be a lesson in not looking into the eyes of tomorrow.

Worry is a known component of aging. When we stray away from our present day concerns, we succumb to a fixation on the aspects of life's destiny we have no control of. Zombie-like personalities, with aged facial features, walk this planet demoralizing themselves for not achieving some pre-set ambition. Have you ever seen a joyful zombie? Put the joy of day to day living in your life, for tomorrow will come in its own way.

The best way to free yourself from the common habit of visualizing beyond the now, is to recognize the importance of focusing on today. What you do today is indicative of tomorrow's outcome. If you had a enjoyable day, more than likely you will wake up pleasant, and smiling. You awaken after a good, uninterrupted sleep, anxious to get your next day started. On the other hand, if you had a miserable day, you would probably not want to get up at all. In fact, you probably tossed and turned, woke up depressed and shaken, and cringed at the thought of going facing the rowdy masses once again. In essence, the importance of you living your day in total enjoyment, despite your negative surroundings, pays dividends tenfold. Tomorrow will take care of itself.
