There are plenty of drinks out there which are much more healthier than soda/pop and they might even be cheaper. Pop is filled with 7-8 teaspoons of sugar and is just carbonated water with sugar and colour.
Here are some drinks, which can be substituted for pop:
Orange juice has vitamin C and is generally good for health. Juices have vitamins, iron and are healthier than pop. Fresh juice is one of the healthiest drinks if you can spend the time in making it. There are juice makers out in the market which are excellent for preparing fresh and healthy juice.
Gatorade has electrolytes which gives you energy and hydrates your body after vigorous exercising activity. Instead of drinking pop, try drinking Gatorade. But beware that Gatorade also has a lot of sugar but is considered to be healthier than pop.
Milk is a great substitute and milk also contains Vitamin A which is required by the body and calcium which helps bones become stronger, and that is why a child needs to drink lots of milk. But it isn't only for children. Milk can also serve as a great replacement drink for adults who drink coke. Chocolate milk can also provide more energy and is very easy to prepare. There are plenty of chocolate milk brands out there and each one of them is healthier than soda/pop.
Many people end up drinking coke/pepsi when they are thirsty. Water is what hydrates you and water has no calories at all. Instead of drinking pop, simply replace it with water and this will also fill your stomach. You will not feel like drinking coke if you are hydrated; so drink water!
Lemonade has plenty of water and vitamin C. Like juice, lemonade also contains sugar and is a great replacement in place of soda/pop. It also tastes great and hydrates your body because it contains water. Lemonade generally has less sugar than pop and tastes much better than other replacement drinks.
Energy drinks without caffeine also contain lots of vitamins and serve as a great replacement. But they do not taste as good as pop. However, if you are disciplined to lose weight or get healthy, then energy drinks or meal replacement drinks are much better than drinking soda/pop.
These are several drinks which can serve as a replacement for soda/pop. All of these drinks are healthier and some of them are even cheaper than pop. Why soda/pop remain so popular is because they are available everywhere and they are handy; whereas milk and fresh juice need preparation and are time consuming.
But you can also purchase ready made milk and juice from the grocery store. You just need to keep an eye on the products and you will end up finding an excellent replacement for soda/pop. If you cannot find a replacement, drink water because that is what you needed in first place when you opened that can of coke/pepsi.
