I don't see how you could argue for the negative in this debate it's not really even a debate. Evolution has happened in the last few thousand years so they simply must exist together. Even if you believed that God created the universe and us, you must realise that we have evolved since that point and God may be with us always and everywhere but I haven't seen it written anywhere that he is tinkering with us generation after generation to slowly change who we are. It is in our nature to continually evolve, both physically and mentally, both are forms of evolution and both are in action everyday.
"Signs of recent evolution by natural selection are widespread across the human genome, experts say." This is taken from National Geographic in relation to the Human Genome Project that is mapping our blueprint. The evidence is built into our bodies, it cannot be denied.
Fact: On average we are far taller than we were only a couple thousand years ago. God's work or Evolution?
It must be evolution. Why? God created us in his image, no doubt perfect. IF that's so then why would he change us? Created perfectly in his image there would be no need for change. Yet we find our species is changing slowly and surely.
Personally I have no issues with God, there is room for God in our world, my view of God is different but I believe there is a higher power. I also believe the universe is in harmony or balance if you like.
So why can't they exist together? I know in Genesis it says 'and God created they heaven and earth' but it doesn't say how. Many expressions in the bible are metaphorical, why not this part of the bible. God may have used evolution? He may have created Evolution to create man. It apparently happened in 7 days but we know the bible is written for it's meaning not it's literal interpretation. Also many parts of the bible where either added by man or rewritten by man.
My personal view is that there is no reason why both aren't true, God may well be Evolution. The truth is neither side of this argument has all the answers. Darwinists do not know what triggered evolution, to believe that everything just fell into place accidentally is a stretch even for me. Those who believe in God, you know you don't have the answers, your simply asked to have faith. I think an investigation by those who have a far greater understanding on the bible than me would reveal that there is room for both.
