After you have finished painting your boxes, you will need to carefully cut holes into the lids and bottoms so that when card is inserted in the smallest box at the top, it will fall to the bottom of the largest box. Boxes can be easily cut using a box cutter or blade.
The largest box will only have a hole cut into the lid. This hole should be about 1 inch smaller than the diameter of the medium box.
The medium box will have a hole cut into the lid and the bottom. The bottom will need a hole cut about 1" in from the sides all the way around. The bottom of this box will be glued to the lid of the largest box so be careful that your calculations are correct before you begin to cut.
The lid of the medium box will have a hole that is about 1 inch smaller than the diameter of the smallest box.
The smallest box will have a hole cut at the bottom that is about 1 inch smaller in diameter than the box itself. You will only need to cut a slit in the lid for card insertion.
Using a glue gun, adhere lids to the small and medium boxes leaving the large box lid unglued for easy card retrieval.
Glue the small box to the lid of the medium box and allow to dry. Those boxes will then be glued to the lid of the largest box.
Add ribbon trim or silk flowers for a faux frosting look and place boxes on a cake plate.
