Poetry: Valentine's Day

by Annette Bromley

VALENTINES DAY THOUGHTS

I'll not call you my valentine.

You're much more dear to me

than a lovely, sweet, endearing card

on February the fourteenth

to express how much I love you

for I love you all the year

and I hope I show you often

not just when Valentine's Day is here

because I'll love you for a lifetime...

I will always hold you dear.

You are more to me than candy,

than a bouquet of pretty flowers;

worth more than diamonds, more than gold,

more than all treasure spent,

for your worth can not be measured;

it's much more significant

than a pretty card and candy

and roses, ruby red

so just know I'll always love you

'til end of time...'nough said.

I treasue every moment

we have known throughout the years

and even when we're not together

thoughts of you are always near.

You're much more than just "my valentine"

so this I have to say...

I wish you a life of joyful blessings

and wish you happy every day.

You're worth more than cards and candy

or roses ruby red

so I searched my heart to find these thoughts

and wrote a poem instead...

just to say I love you

and will always hold you dear

whether near or far apart,

for all my life, year after year.
