There's a lot to be said for living in the here and now.
Worrying about tomorrow only elevates your stress level and will probably give you a headache or worse.
You can't do anything about tomorrow until it becomes today. Which means it's here now. Yesterday is gone and there is nothing you can do about it so don't dwell on it, let it go and move on.
I'm sure you've heard the saying, "No one on their deathbed ever wished they had worked more." They may have said, "I wish I had spent more time with my family", "I wish I had gone to more of my child's' soccer games, hockey games, baseball games etc." or "I wish I had just stopped and appreciated what I already had more often."
Stop and smell the roses before you forget what they smell like, before you don't see them anymore when they are right there. Forget about tomorrow for awhile and focus on appreciating all the people who are important to you and all you do have in your life right here, right now.
If you have any pets observe them. Do they worry about tomorrow or fret about yesterday? The answer would probably be a resounding no. They enjoy each other's company, relax in the sunshine, play with their toys and if you have dogs, they love to take you for walks. Go with them! Learn from them! They really do live just for today and love life.
Horses are also a great example of how to live in the here and now. So, if you are lucky enough to be a horse owner, sit in the pasture and just visit them and observe them. You will find a calm come over you that is hard to explain but extremely wonderful to experience. And remember to just breathe and to just be. It could just save your life.
High stress levels can cause all kinds of health problems such as
Migraines and severe headaches
Chronic fatigue
Anxiety problems
Severe depression
Muscle tension and pain
Some forms of cancer
Heart attacks
That's just to name a few.
Remember, "Money isn't everything" and "You can't take it with you." So live for the moment, it's all that really matters.
