You can call it ferret or fretka. It's tamed black pet, which mostly lived in forests. This pet has a moderate body length, short legs, and a long furry tail. Ferret body is very flexible. So males are mostly bigger than the females.

Despite the fact, that wild ferrets has very similar body colour (dark brown with black), domestic ferrets has a wide variety of colours. It can be from light whitest to the darkest black. These pets like cold weather more than the heat. They are very alive. However, they have a night lifestyle and like various caves. That's why most of them are purblind, but have very good nose and touching sense.

The first assosiation, which comes to people heads, which didn't had any ferrets is their terrible smell. Well it's a stereotype and it is not a truth. You need to separate two things: ferret smell, which is like soft musk or honey and their stink smell, which comes from preanal glandules. Stink smell is very strong, it spreads over the whole room. It comes so when ferret is very excited or scared. Domestic ferrets rarely have this smell. The mostly common way to avoid it is to remove these anal glandules surgically. Their excrement has no smell if we compare it to a cat.

Before doing it, you need to prepare all the environment. Close all narrow passings behind and under any furniture. Hide flower pots and small things. They can dig or eat them. Also close all windows and balcony. He can run out or fall out. Domestic ferret can be kept in big cage or room. It should be release it, when you want let him to run or play for 2-3 hours daily. Ferrets are sleeping sixteen hours per day, so it's very important to create a proper bedroom. It might like if you hand a hammock. If you don't have it, you can lay down any of your old clothes. If your ferret lives in cage, there must be a cave imitation to hide. If it lives in your room, find a confortable place to sleep. It can be behind your bed or under the wardrobe. As I have already mentioned, ferrets are very active pets. So when they awake, they need to have some toys to play. It can be any kind of tubes or tunnels. Create some labyrinths, put some boxes or anything you like. Pay your attention to the safety. All these things must be safe for your pet.

Daily care is not so hard. The most important thing is to care for food and drink. You need to clean its toilet box once a day. And change it's bed once a week. Cut pet nails once a two weeks. Bath it, when you feel bad smell who can't be ventilated
