Dexter Morgan. Blood Splatter Analyst by day. Serial Killer by night.

This Series is actually based from the novel of Jeff Lindsay, Darkly Dreaming Dexter. This is probably one of those rare cases that we learned to love the book but we will love the adaptation even better.

The thought of a serial killer as a hero is a bit unsettling don't you think? But if a person stops a bad guy from doing more bad things like what Batman and what Superman are doing, then we could call that person a hero right? Well, Dexter is a serial killer but he only kills bad guys. So we could make him like our new macabre Hero. The One and Only.

Dexter Morgan is a person who thinks he's no human and had always believed that he had already perfected faking human emotions. Ever since Dexter's childhood, he always had the urge to kill. This urge could be traced from his early childhood memory. He had witnessed his mother's death under a chainsaw and was locked up in a container for 2 and a half days, stuck in the floor in dried blood, an inch deep. Thanks to his foster father, Harry, who had thought him how to deal with that inner demon that he has. Harry's instructions was simple,he must choose WHO to Kill..Only those who deserve it. And so Dexter did.

So every time this "Dark Passenger" of him strikes,he's out killing his prey but always taking into consideration the words of Harry. Those who only deserve it. He always keep a slide with a drop of blood from his prey, something like a trophy for him. Not even his sister Deborah knows about it.

Another serial killer who kills almost the same way that he does is murdering prostitutes.Unlike Dexter though, this killer wants to show-off his "masterpiece".However, sister Deborah is in this case & she had forced him to help her determine this killer. You have to watch the amazing twist in the end as to how Deborah and this other serial killer drove Dexter's mind in some kind of a haywire.=)

Michael C. Hall is very very convincing in playing the role as Dexter. Jennifer Carpenter who played Deborah, Dexter's sister is as foul-mouthed as she is needed to be.=) And everybody in the cast is just right and fitting. You may think that's a bit too much but believe me, it's really true.

Definitely, it'll not be a waste of time watching this show. You get to have all from this series...It could be "darkly" funny, romantic, dramatic with a bit of action and of course, full of suspense. All in one.*wink*

One bloody masterpiece!
