I've never understood the term "beer snob." I like beer; I like good beer, what is wrong with that? Budweiser, Coors, Michelob and Miller don't fall into the category of good beer to me. I've tried to wrap my mind around it as an insult. Often I find it comes from people, who drink to get drunk, not for enjoyment which to me is pathological.
Anyway this is supposed to be a confession so here we go:
I think Corona is not bad on a hot day with a lime.
-It can be refreshing. It goes down easily and doesn't fill you, all in all a good summer beer.
I hate Budweiser/Coors/Michelob/Miller and all their "lite" variations.
To me they taste like bland piss and lite tastes like a cup of water that had some beer drip into it.
If you can't have more then 1 Guinness, I think you're weak.
"Oh, it's like a meal."
"It's so heavy."
"It fills me up." Wah! Grow a pair or should I order you an appletini Maria.
It took a while for me to like Guinness Extra Stout.
I confess it wasn't a love at first taste situation, but after much drinking I now prefer it to Guinness stout from a can or bottle. However nothing will ever replace Guinness Stout Draught as #1 in my heart.
I like to bring extra stout to a party, because I know no one else will drink.
Now I don't really know this, but there is a very good possibility that it will all be mine.
I haven't tried all styles of Sam Adams.
-There are 16 varieties and some are made in limited quantities, like utopias or chocolate bock and some are seasonal like Oktoberfest or Summer Ale, but it is a mission I will complete.
Heineken is my go to beer for refreshment.
I like to drink it when I am thirsty because it goes down easily, has a good but not overwhelming taste like Guinness or other beers and is pretty easy to find any time any place.
I.P.A.'s and hoppy beers disgust me.
They just taste bad to me, sorry.
I'm not that into hefeweisen.
My preferences are Stouts and Ales.
If I had to choose amongst the dreaded 4, I would drink MGD.
I've never drank a 40 and I never plan too.
Not an amazing confession but it is the best I can do. Truth is I feel no shame in being a "beer snob." It's not my fault if others prefer sub par flavor in their beer, maybe they are stuck in the 70's who knows?
Maybe their taste buds are overly sensitive, maybe they fear quality? All I know is that there are a lot of really good beers, and life is too short to drink the bad ones.
