Dog safety: Safety equipment for your dog

"Buckle up, Fido!"

Don't laugh because being safe with your favorite dog is getting to be more and more common. Here are some reasons why:

Dog Safety in the Car:

Keeping your dog safe in the car is just as important as keeping your child safe. Dogs like to move around, and jump from the front seat to the backseat. You could hit a bump, and your dog hits the dashboard. My dog likes to sit in the front seat of our car, and ride. But I think that it is so dangerous, but we all need to use dog safety while we drive even in town.

What can we do? Dog seat belts are strongly encouraged to keep your dog safe. The equipment that you need just snaps to your regular seat belt, and gives them a little freedom but not enough to hurt themselves in the event of an accident. It is a harness like, and looks like a vest that they wear and has an attachment that adapts to a regular car seat belt.

Lassie wears her sunglasses not at night but during the day!

Safety for dog's eyes are important for them so that they can get out in the sun, and not have their eyes blurred due to sun glare. Dogs may get upset if they have to look into the sun, and they don't have their dog glasses. Just like people they need protection from UV Rays as well. Not only are they safe, they look very stylist!

Walking in the dark with a reflective vest:

Harnessing the moment with your dog on a walk in the moonlight can be pretty nice, but not nice if the car drivers can't see your dog. By wearing a dog safety harness he or she can be seen, and the dog's owner can relax because others can see your dog. Not a bad idea to dress for safely as well if you are walking your dog. Wear clothes that are reflexive, so others can see you as well.

Dodging the corrective lenses:

Be patient, take it slow, and let the dog get use to the idea. Wearing glasses for anyone isn't an easy transition, so why would it be easy for a dog? Doggles look very much like goggles you would wear at the swimming pool, but their designed for dogs to wear to help them with their ailing eyesight.

Water sports:

Wearing a dog safety vest while on the water is also good, and good for you! Being buoyant to stay above the water for your dog is a great thing just in case the speed of the boat is too fast and the dog falls out of the boat. Good plan to have a safety vest on for the times of just in case!

More Safety devices:

Doing all that you can to protect your dog. There are many safety devices to keep your dog safe, and surfing the web can be the right path to keeping safety first. Don't forget to get Fido a safety helmet if he can't see, it would at least protect his head when he bumps into things, or if he likes to ride in the wind while his owner drives a Harley but is riding side saddle with more safety devices!
