Th e Mensa Foundation scholarship is not the usual type of scholarship that is based on ethnicity, financial need, or career field. The twist on this program is a five-hundred-and-fifty word essay contest that participating applicants are invited to write. In the essay, students' should focus on their educational, vocational, or career goals.
A judging team oversees and reviews the essays and later ranks the essays according to grammar, style, organization, and content. Winners are determined after the essays are scored.
Applicants must reside in the Orange County/Mensa area to be considered. They must also be enrolled full-time in a degree program one year after the effective application date. Awards range from $300 to $1,000.
