Humor: Tech support

Ohhh manTech Support. When I saw this subject I simply had to share a hilarious story. However, I would like to warn you right now that as unbelievably stupid as it may seem this story is absolutely, completely one hundred percent true, my mom's real experience with tech support!

Sometime last year my mom had to call the Dell Tech Support about my laptop. The laptop had been working perfectly fine when I plugged it in to charge for the night, but when I went to start it up the next day it would not turn on! I tried holding the power button down for over two minutes and still nothing! I then tried taking the battery out and putting it back in to see if that would help. After doing that I then tried yet again to turn on the laptop and still nothing! I had tried everything I could possibly think of that could help, even letting the laptop charge some more and it would still not turn on. Well that was that, we had to call the ever so dreaded tech support. (DUN DUNN DUNNN!)

So we called and after waiting for what felt like, ohhhumm only umpteen million years we finally got connected to a human being, happy day =D! My mom then went through the process of explaining to the support agent what was going on with the laptop and how it would not turn on. She also told the agent everything we had done in attempt to turn on the evil device, (which really felt like everything a human could possibly think of to do)! The support agent then told her to plug the laptop into the charger and try turning it on. My mom did as she was instructed, although knowing in the back of her head that I had tried that already and had no success( plus hadn't she told the agent we had done that already?!). Well to no surprise of hers, nothing happened. She told that to the tech support agent who then asked if "the green light on the charger was lit". My mom looked down at the charger to check and then exclaimed, "No! No the green light is not lit up!". And what did the tech support agent say? Well his reply was honestly, "Oh well let me go look in my book to see what is the problem". What!? Okay, wow! Alright, I am no computer genius, and honestly I am only fourteen years old, but even I know that because the green light was not lit it meant the charger was broken!

I suppose the moral of this story is that sometimes tech support can actually be helpful, but they are still very (and I mean VERY) annoying to deal with.
