Poetry: Pearly gates

by The Orange Fox

Created on: February 11, 2009

Is what I touch...so very real?
What...how do I feel?
Of which I have given away...
Saved for another, endless day.

I wanted you to come, to open that door...
So I could see, everything in store...
Show me that perfect picture frame;
Because I know that I; will never, be the same.

I gave you my heart,
You tore it, part, from part...
Leaving me, in the dust...
With no one left to trust.

Down here, upon my knee,
I beg for someone to hear my plea...
But...no one came...
It's all the same.

At least, in giving all to love...
I saw those pearly gates above.
