Poetry: Pearly gates

How do you do?

The old man asked

Me? I guess I'm fine

Do I need a ticket here?

I don't see a line

Well my dear

The old man said

Things are slow these days

Most people are at the party down yonder

It's all lit up ablaze

I like the quiet, I say

It suits me just fine

I may not have lived the most exciting life

But at least I'm here in line
