Life as a Minnesota State University - Mankato Maverick is full of opportunity and fun as well as hard work and achievement. Located about an hour south of Minneapolis-St. Paul, much of the student population is the greater Twin Cities area. Which means lots of students have local connections. The student population at Mankato is a little over 13,000. Just the right size for a student who is able to take care of themselves but also wants individual attention from their professors. There are over 150 degree programs. Something for everyone!

Life outside the classroom is equally diverse. With over 200 clubs and organizations, there is something for everyone at Minnesota State University - Mankato. Whether it's social groups, Greek life or religious organizations, the diverse array of clubs and organizations provide a good time for every Maverick student. Interested in athletics? Minnesota State University - Mankato is home to Division I men's and women's hockey and Division II football, basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, swimming, tennis, track, and wrestling. Both for participants and spectators, Maverick's connect to athletics in multiple ways.

Living on campus at Minnesota State University - Mankato provides many opportunities to be close to all the action. With both traditional rooms as well as suite style living, students will find an environment that is conducive to studying as well as social interactions. From high rises to low stack buildings, single gender to co-ed environments, the possibilities are endless! Finding the classes that will complete the perfect major can be a daunting task but it's one where MSU - Mankato students receive lots of help. As graduation creeps closer, the Career Development Center houses professionals who can assist with job searches as well as tools and resources to determine a career path.
