Does God ever say no?

by Christine Sandor

We are beloved children of God, in whom God is well pleased. It is God's good pleasure to see that we are happy, healthy and prosperous. It is God's good pleasure to give us all we need, not necessarily all we ASK to receive!

I would like to think that that million dollars I'd like is going to fall out of the sky any minute, but would I be happy? I'd think so, but perhaps God knows that all I need is already available to me and I just have to wake up to that wisdom. Is God saying; "No you can't have a million."? I think instead God has a different, better idea for me. Does that mean I will never see the million, gee I hope not, but it does mean that I must turn in faith to the Creator of this Universe and know that I am loved and all my needs are met.

When I joined Unity and became a Chaplain I began to understand a different way of praying. I came to believe and more over, trust, God knew my needs and desires before I ever asked, and yet our Elder Brother and Way-Shower Jesus the Christ told us; "ask and you SHALL receive." But should be so literal?

Are our prayers and requests for the good of everyone evolved? This is key in whether our desire will manifest. If anyone might be hurt in the process, the exact nature of what we desire will not come forward. If some other will be harmed in the process of our receiving how can this be "granted". God loves all It's children and is protecting all. There is no favoritism! Still the Universe knows what your needs are and continues to provide.

I learned to pray differently. Affirming that I am blessed, staying in a place of gratitude for what I do have and when asking, adding "this or something better." Praying in this manner allows for the Divine flow. I might be asking for something specific, but what if God has a different idea of what would be good for me. God's the One with the Wisdom, am I going to argue?! This type of prayer is true even if praying for the recovery of a sick friend. To pray for the HIGHEST and BEST outcome for all concerned, allows the Divine to do It's work. We do not know what "deal" that individual has made or what purpose their illness will serve with them or others. Certainly, we don't want to see our friend suffer, if we pray that they go through their process with "grace and ease" we have done our part.

It is not a question of God saying "yes or no." It is about allowing Divine Love to be Divine Love.

Oh and God, about that million
