You spend the most of the night awake studying for an exam and you literally get two hours of sleep. You wake up and find that your eyes have gotten puffy and have dark circles that surround them. What is an easy way to get rid of these puffy and dark eyes? Here are some great step by step guidelines that can help you keep your eyes healthy and awake.
A great idea is to apply a frozen ice pack to your eyes. This will greatly reduce the puffiness and irritation. A frozen ice pack can be replaced with cold wash cloths, chilled cucumbers, and even strips from a potato.
Do not rub your eyes. Rubbing your eyes excessively causes severe irritation and just makes them more tired and puffy.
Drink a lot of water before you go to bed, as this acts a defensive system that helps decrease the puffiness in your eyes.
Many people find that puffiness in their eyes decreases if they apply simple herbal tea bags to their eyes. This is easy because all it requires is for you to soak the tea bags in water, and relax as you lay them on your eyes. Take a break and wait for about ten minutes as the redness is quickly taken care of.
If your eyes are not quickly healed by these home-aid remedies there are many over the counter treatments that help calm and treat your sagging eyes. Among these products are Dermalogica Total Eye Care Cream, St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Eye and Face Stress Gel, and Pacifica Blue Chamomile Soothing Eye Gel.
If none of these products or home remedies work for you, you may be suffering from an allergic reaction. If you think you are suffering from an allergic reaction it is a good idea to go and see a licenced doctor.
The best way to keep you eyes from being puffy and swollen is to get a good nights rest. Everyone know that this is not always possible with such busy schedules. Many people can find ways remedies on the Internet or in magazines.
