I feel that it would be a civil injustice to place a maximum age on ones driving privileges in the United States. I don't believe that ones comprehensive and reactive abilities abruptly fail them on a particular birthday. I feel that it may be a good idea to have those of whom are experiencing problems in their driving experience, say that they receive traffic citations, or have been the cause of a traffic accident, that those individuals be required to take, and pass their comprehensive, and road test, more often than the usual schedule that is set for the drivers without incident .
I also feel that a rule of testing the driver with incident shouldn't be restricted to the driver of advanced years of age, it should be a rule that affects the driver of any age. The ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and comprehensively has more to do with your responsible maturity, and the knowledge one would have in operating a motor vehicle, not ones age
While I do believe that as one ages that there is often a decline in their personal performance level in many areas, that unless there are mental health issues I don't feel that comprehension would be one of them, if anything one would be more aware of their surroundings and have a keener sense of awareness of the probable reaction or reflective driving ability of another driver on the road.
All around us on the road we have drivers that possess a different level of a safe driving ability, and if you would take the time to do a little research you would find that it is the younger drivers that experience the most traffic accidents on our roads in the United States, they too receive the most traffic citations. I completely support the right, and privilege to obtain a driving licence and drive a motor vehicle on our roadways regardless of your age, with the exception of being at least sixteen years of age, and to possess a responsible, comprehensive, knowledge and awareness of the abilities one requires to safely operate a motor vehicle
While most drivers on the road feel comfortable with their ability to safely drive, there a a few drivers that while they operate their motor vehicle everyday, they find themselves to be very nervous behind the wheel. For those individuals there are some driving awareness programs out there that can help them with their driving ability and someday possibly save their life or the life of another.
One really awesome class that one can look into is the drivers edge program, I'm sure you can find a class somewhere close to you, or simply go on line to get more information about the drivers edge program. All drivers can benefit from a driving awareness program regardless of their experience
