Should we fear God?

We should fear God because of who He is. The Lord, our God is an awesome God. All things in Heaven and on Earth belongs to Him and was created by Him for His purpose. The Bible says, "Do not fear those who can kill the body but cannot kill the soul, but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell" (Matthew 10:28 - New King James Version). Proverb 1: 10 (NKJV) says that "the fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom. And, knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." "The fear of man brings a snare. But whoever trust in the Lord shall be safe" (Proverb 29:25 - NKJV).

What a blessing it is to gain knowledge and understanding of the Holy One. Our God is omnipotent - His power in unlimited and infinite. Our God is omnipresent - His presence is everywhere. Our God is omniscient - He has infinite knowledge. Knowing and understanding the characteristics of God is what led me to repentance and it is what holds and keeps me. I am nothing without God. It is in Him that I live, breathe, and have my being. He is my shelter in the time of a storm. He's my everything. He the reason that I'm still here today. Where would I be, if Jesus didn't love me. God loves us so much that he gave his only Son to pay our sin debt in full. The Lord do not want any of us to perish, but to come to an understanding of His Word.

Today, our nation is facing and economic crisis. Man's word have failed. Man's word without the knowledge of our Lord and Savior means nothing.. We are once again searching for answers, for hope, for something or someone to make it okay. We have a new president, can he fix it? We want to believe that he can. President Obama says, "yes, we can." I say, yes, we can do all things through God who strength us. We know from the Scriptures that "all things work together for the good of those who loves the Lord." I'm here to tell you that our only hope is in God. Man's words without God's Statues is only a temporary fix.

Knowledge and understanding of God's Word will give us the tools we need to rebuild. His Word will give us strength, hope and the sense to take heed of how we rebuild on the foundation that He has laid for us. "For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 3:11- NKJV).

Satan is working overtime (roaming the Earth to see whom he can devour), but knowledge and understanding of God's Word let us know that Satan has no power over God's peoples. God has given us a world full of His riches and glory. We are expected to be good stewards over what He has so gracefully given us. We haven't been good stewards so now we are suffering the consequences. This time, we must look to the hill where our help comes from. Our help comes from the Lord. It is good thing to have knowledge and understanding of the Holy One. If you don't know Him, get to know Him.
