Songs: Sunshine

by Barbara Stanley

Created on: February 10, 2009

As the sun shines through my bedroom curtain

and the fragrance of roses rushes in,

there is one thing I know for certain,

I have been freed from death and sin.

My life, I'll live in the warmth of sunshine.

I will walk no more with death in darkness.

His love redeemed me, my life aligned.

Each day I'll live to bear this witness.

Sunshine is welcomed into my world again.

So long, I travelled in the dark of night.

Such sweet release, to be freed of sin

and unashamed to walk in the light.

Oh, the warmth of walking in the light.

What beauty I see, now that His Son shines.

So long, those chains kept me living in night;

praise God, praise God, that His son shines.

Walking in sunshine, walking with faith,

the freedom I feel, I cannot express.

I sing of a new day, a day of faith,

and how He saved me, I must express.
