All ye animatronics, step in line.
Single-serving proximate strangers
Anxious, worried, nervous,.. dangerous?
Join the transit intertwine ~ terracotta pantomime.
Bodies in motion like words in rhyme
Breath is shallow and leg-room, Dutch,
Knees are rigid, refraining from touch.
In this transit intertwine ~ terracotta pantomime.
Stuttering brakes, no stops on dimes
Though unintentional, the touch is light
Nervous eyes scan for alarmed shriek plight
In our transit intertwine ~ terracotta pantomime.
A sexy smirk to counter the crime
Frequent caresses to the train's sway
Wittingly subtle, yet tingles in every way.
Here in our transit intertwine ~ terracotta pantomime.
Destination reached, departure time.
Shy eyes long to stay and dote.
Courageous one delivers the note.
Farewell transit intertwine ~ terracotta pantomime

Poetry: Subway commute
by Lisa Kates
Screeching wheels
Race along
Cold steel tracks
Anxious people
Lean against walls
Listening to beats
Craning necks
Sounds and signals, speed and noise,
Adverts on a subway wall,
People's faces gray and ashen,
Do they see my face at all?
All
by Tom Glover
Space full of fuss
A train full of people
A tube full of trains
Welcome aboard as commuters take aim
Barge past the hump
by Angela Kanel
Rolling down a stream of concrete
the hypnotism of broken lines pointing into forever
it seems an eternal road
all the vehicles
URBAN UNDERGROUND
Are you looking up at me
Just let your minds eye run free
Every time you join me down here
is the air above
