"Bodhisattva Vow"
I am
one of these doors.
Perhaps I have more...perhaps I am more;
but this brokenness is a doorway open,
pouring out my darkness, my concepts, my expectations.
The fullness of my breadth, my breath, my height, my length, my width
are all immeasurable, but measured in my becoming
and their goings - who I was and will be and never will be
and always.
As I work through the open access,
I am met with a structure empty of its chambers: no ventricles, no atria
yet this heart keeps beating.
Once, where there was the opportunity to hide predispositions,
now I can see past forever; I can see past my need
to other hearts beating, trembling, frozen, perhaps dying
I can see; I can breathe.
So I place a hand upon my chest in a vow across forever
to the farthest shores of brokenness
to be the door inward through which the fragmented can again find the pieces of themselves
in a safe place, a safe place, a place safe;
and it's because I am
one of these doors.
