with the creation that God yearned for, that creation had to be freed from the mind of God.
Thus, creation occurred when God projected Its thoughts, ideas, feelings, imaginings, and dreams outside of Itself. In order for real relationships to exist, they must exist between one consciousness and another. Projecting the creation outside of Itself allowed God to relate to us and all of creation as something other.
It was also necessary that these new souls have free will. There can be no real relationship unless both parties have the ability to say "yes" or "no" to the relationship. The Divine could have forced us to relate to It in any way It chose. But without freedom of choice, no real relationship could exist. All of creation was given the ability to say "no" to the Divine.
So I believe that we are made of the stuff of God. More than that, I believe that, aside from free will, we were given the greatest gift that is possible. That is, we create our own experiences the same way that God created everything. We create with our thoughts, ideas, feelings, imaginings, and dreams. Is this magical thinking? Absolutely!
The other piece of good news is that, because we are made out of God stuff or soul stuff, if God is love, then we are made out of love. If God is light, then we are made out of light.
I believe that the spirit is the animating force in all of creation. The soul expresses itself in physical reality as a body. The body is just a body until the spirit animates it. The spirit may hang around the body at conception or earlier. It may not show up until closer to birth. It may come and go in and out of the body until it decides to settle in. The spirit may be able to choose to leave the body within the first few months if it isn't happy with the situation. This may be the real cause of crib death.
I am an expression of my soul. But my soul is much more than this one expression. All of my past and future lives are expressions of the one soul. The soul doesn't pop in and out of one life after another. It expresses itself in many lives as well as many non-physical experiences and this all happens in the eternal now.
We are a living soul, animated by the Spirit of God. We are individual expressions of our soul as well as individual expressions of the Divine. God experiences reality through us and through all of creation. You have to ask yourself: Is God enjoying Itself through my life right now?
