Poetry: Lies

by Larry Terry

CONTROL YOUR FATE

Telling the truth, that would be keen;

Distorting the facts, now that's mean.

Your whole life, one big myth;

If sworn to testify, you would plead the fifth.

Being honest, you could never be;

For you are blind, being true you could never see.

You woud be bitten, if a fib was a snake;

Death by a viper, that would be your fate.

Your lips say one thing, but reality is in the eyes;

In the end, karma will catch up to your lies.
