The concept of a website where visitors can search for caretakers probably sounds very far-fetched in a world where it can be hard just to convince a local teenager to babysit. However the Care.com website does claim itself to be safe by doing background checks on potential caretakers free.
Design
Care.com is a website with a professional design, and from the start is easy to navigate. In addition, everything on the website seems to be easy for users to read. Thankfully there are no advertisements spamming the pages of this website, which adds yet another good point to the overall experience.
Features
In regards to features, Care.com does a great job of helping out visitors find potential caretakers for everyday needs such as house keeping or even babysitting. One of the major pluses when it comes to this website is the fact that they actually do free background checks on those that could potentially be hired.
Searching for caretakers can be using zip codes, or users can simply post a help wanted ad on the website. However the one huge downside to Care.com is that to gain unlimited viewing of caretakers or have the ability to do unlimited background checks, users need to pay up.
When searching the database for caretakers, users can separate them by experience level. Another good point to the website is that they offer safety tips to users and other articles that visitors will find very helpful.
Improvements
At the end of the day Care.com is a very neat site and goes a very long way to help users find caretakers that live near by. However they could provide most of the services they do at lower prices.
Aside from that one small downside to Care.com, the website is a great and should be used by everyone that finds themselves looking through newspapers to find caretakers. Care.com gets a seven out of ten for being well above average, this site needs little improvements and is nearly perfect.
