Monday, Tuesday, work's not done,

Overtime, deadlines come and gone,

Stressed to the max and my nerves are shot

The workweek's taking everything I've got.

Now the inbox is empty and the work's all done,

Friday's come and the boss man's gone.

It's payday today, time to get up and go.

Time to fly high, until I run low.

I'm gonna blow off some steam, gonna dance till dawn,

My credit is good until the money is gone.

Late Sunday morning I'll drag myself out of bed

Turn my pockets inside out and pray inside my head

That I'd find enough to pay the bills in the tray

Maybe buy me a movie and stay in for the day.

And when the landlady calls, I'll be ready for her

Cause I can pay her rent and whatever else is due.

I've still got a job and a new week's beginning

Another payday coming, another night on the town

Another week to play out, until I settle down.
