There are many ways that a spiritual awakening can change relationships. People that have spiritual awakenings are often calmer and have changes in emotions and behavior. There are many ways that spiritual awakenings can occur. A common example is a near death experience, or NDE. These changes occur because of the fact that a person has almost died and has come back. The person then realizes how great a gift life is and how it should be cherished. There have been numerous accounts of people that have "seen the light", or "have been to hell and back". These people usually always remember to view life as a gift that has multiple opportunities for them. There are many married Americans today, and there are many possible ways that a spiritual awakening can affect their behavior towards one another.

For example, imagine if one member of a couple had a spiritual awakening. How would this in turn affect the way the other member felt towards his/her spouse? Would he/she be angry? Sad? Confused? There are many emotions that could describe how he/she would feel. These emotions could then spiral out of control and leave the couple in a sad state that needed to be helped in order to continue on. The couple might then question their marriage and why they even got together in the first place. The couple would then need relationship help, and fast.

A good start would be to analyze the situation. How did the problems start in the first place? The problems with the relationship started when one of the members had a spiritual awakening. The member of the relationship that didn't experience this awakening didn't know how his/her member felt at all through this major and important experience. The member that did experience the awakening would feel sad and left out because his/her member had no idea what they were going through in this important time in their life. A normal marriage counselor wouldn't be fit for the job in this situation because they don't deal with the matters of spiritual awakenings as well as other resources could. A great idea and resource for this predicament would be consulting a psychic.

The word psychic refers to "of the mind or mentally". Psychics have the power to predict the future and to read one's thoughts. They also have extra senses that help them distinguish one's future. They can also communicate with spirits and ghosts. A psychic would be perfect in this situation because he/she can help the marriage by showing the couple what each other is thinking.
