Hemp is the worlds most environmentally safe crops of the U.S. and around the world. It is estimated that there are over 25,000 different uses for this plant, that's even more then duct tape! The Hemp plant leaves soil in an improved condition. It grows tall and thick, shading and mulching the ground. It contributes to healthy microbial life and nutrient content in the soil. The leaves fall off year round, in turn giving the soil many of it's needed nutrients. Hemp is also naturally resistant to insects, molds, and other pests, requiring no pesticides.
Clothes/Linen/Fabrics
Hemp can be used for a vast variety of fabrics, including clothes and linen. It lasts 5 times longer then cotton, with much less strain in the soil. It allows the skin to breathe and when the first snow fall comes, it will naturally lock in the warmth. It is also non-stretchy, and does not wear out over time, like cotton. The first American Flag was made from Hemp. From that, Hemp was also the first rope making material as it is strong, flexible and resistant to water.
Oil
We must wean ourselves off fossil fuel dependency. Working with plants like Hemp can reduce our stress and dependency on fossil fuels. For centuries Hemp Oil was used as Lamp Oil. Today Hemp Oil can be used to create biofuels to replace Gasoline for our cars and diesel engines. Unlike Fossil Fuels, Bio fuels are renewable and produce less greenhouse gases. The fewer we have, the better. We've already done a great deal in damaging our ozone layer. The biofuels we can use from hemp, can not only help to reduce our footprint on earth, but can save millions of dollars a year. Not only that, but it burns cleaner then the biofuels made from corn.
These are just a few materials we can use Hemp for in today's society. We can significantly reduce our footprint on the earth by using Eco Friendly Hemp, and other organic products. It can stop the deforestation of tree's, the extinction of animals, and so much more. However, the tycoons have a ridiculous fear about hemp. Many believe it will be easier for the population to grow, sell, and traffic drugs. If grown commercially it can be controlled and regulated, considering the entire plant can be used for something. Opening up thousands of jobs, and in turn boosting our economy. Especially in these times, where we may very well be going in to a recession. Why not give it a test run?
