Push 2008 - Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Camilla Belle and a few others do a great job. I just saw it this weekend, and I enjoyed this movie a lot. It was not as crowded as I would have thought for opening night. I went to a popular theater on Friday night at 10pm, I would have thought it would be close to selling out, but it wasn't. Only about half the seats were taken, maybe less. Although, with movies like X-Men and TV shows like Heroes its getting a little repetitive with all these 'super powers'. But I thought this was a pretty good movie. It didn't really do the whole I'm a super hero and I need to save the world kind of thing, which is a good change of pace from those other shows and movies.
A little more story for parts of it would have been good, I am not saying the movie didn't make sense, but the details were a little shotty in certain parts. They could have elaborated on a few things, and spent mroe time on explaining the history. Dakota Fannings part in the whole thing was slightly unclear other than her mother had seen all of this coming. Would have been cool to get more info there. But maybe that'll be in a prequel.
I thought alot of the effects were pretty cool. And the fighting was ok, not great, but It is worth seeing. The fight seens could have been a little better, I was not a fan of the way Chris Evans fought against the other 'mover' guy. I thought the 'sonic boom' type punch was a little lame. It was cool that they could throw each other across the room, so I am not sure how they would even get close to each other. If I had that power, I think I would throw them across the room before they got close enough to punch me with a sonic boom punch.
I won't give away the ending, but it was not what I had hoped. Movies need to quit leaving things open for sequels. I am a fan of some sequels, but lets at least finish one movie before we move onto the next. Its getting out of hand with all these movies half-finishing. It would be great if we could just get a real ending. Then if it does well, make another story that continues the same idea, we dint need to cut off the first to prepare for a possible second...
Overall, if your in the mood for some cool effects and some action, go for it, you'll probably enjoy it. If your a huge Heroes hater or frustrated with the un-originality of a lot of today's movies, then you should probably pass on this one, because you'll hate this one like you do everything else.
