Survival and/or making more money is what triggers the need for an alliance.
All the parties involved in the strategic alliance have to:
- Think about the brand image change.i.e how long it will take to set in the
minds of the customers.In other words,how much investment of time, people and
money is required to convey this message.
Although it is important for all parties, smaller parties entering into the
alliance have to be more cautious.
- The increase in the market penetration has to be counter balanced with the
expertise that would be needed to
manage the same.
- Cautiously think about the Potential of diversification and improvisation in
products/services delivered in the near future.
- Have a Contingency plan in place in-case the alliance fails.
