Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume Blasting Mascara promises thick beautiful lashes with separation and no clumping. Does it deliver? Well..

This mascara will indeed thicken your lashes better with the first coat than any other mascara I have previously tried. But you will get clumps. I found this very disappointing after also trying their Lash Exact Mascara, which did not clump, but also did not give me the volume I was looking for. I was expecting this to be a more volumizing version with all the lash definition of the previous formula, and I was disappointed.

Another problem with this product actually lies with the brush itself, as the larger size makes it a little more difficult to apply without getting any smudges on your upper lids. After a few practice runs I did get the hang of it, and this was only a minor problem, as it came right off with a cotton swab dipped in eye make-up remover.

It is interesting to note that while this mascara removed very easily from my skin, the water-proof version at least, was almost impossible to remove from my lashes. That alone is not an extreme flaw; it has that in common with most water-proof mascaras. And it was very smudge, sweat, and tear resistant, lasting all day long throughout my month-long test run, no matter what the situation. It did not flake at all either, which is surprising, as most of even the best water-proof mascaras I have tried flake into the inner rim of my eyelids and irritate them by the end of the day.

It also seems to be very hypo-allergenic, while most eye make-up has me in tears within seconds, I had no adverse reaction with Cover Girl Lash Blast. And when I accidentally got a smudge on one of my contact lenses it did not irritate my eyes, although it did take a little rinsing to remove it from the lens. But perhaps most people are not as clumsy as I am, and would never have to worry about that.

At around nine dollars a tube, the price isn't great. I would be very willing to pay that much or even more for a mascara that delivered precisely what they were promising, but this was not it, the only part of its advertising it really lived up to was the extra volume. And there are a lot of cheaper options available that work just as well or better.

Overall, I would recommend applying 2 or 3 coats of Cover Girl Lash Exact Mascara instead, at least until something better is on the market.
