Budget New York City for senior travelers

New York City seems to be the place to visit, every season of the year. There is always something to see, an event to attend, or an apperance of sorts. But, for those of us who are on a budget, this destination seems a little out of reach. Prepare yourself for the good news, it isn't! There are tons of places to visit and sites to see without a spending a penny. Whether you prefer a view of the Empire State building or a leisurely stroll around the famous Central Park, you can do both for free. If you visit in November, you can attend the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in person! You can also visit the infamous Guggenheim Museum for as little as fifteen dollars. If you are looking for an attraction even more budget friendly, visit the National Museum of the American Indian for free. You can also visit the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York Hall of Science, or the New York Botanical Gardens for $6 or less each! There are literally hundreds of accommodations to choose from, whether you prefer a full-service hotel or a quaint bed and breakfast, finding one in your price range is never a problem. The dining options are endless, there is a feast of local favorites as well as international cuisine. From sandwich shops to five star restaurants, you can easily pick the one that you prefer. You can also decide how to get around New York City, for a real New York Experience, hail a cab or grab a bus, both are usually affordable. Typically traveling on weekdays, saves you a good deal on everything from airfare, to hotel accommodation, it also seems to be a little less busy than on weekends. If you still aren't sure, visit New York's official tourism site at iloveny.com. This site covers everything from travel planning tools, weather conditions, events calendar, and it even offers links to accommodations, attractions, and travel ideas. You can even sign up for their newsletter which keeps you up-to-date on what is going on. Best of all, this site provides information on how to save money when visiting by offering all inclusive packages, incentives, and coupons. So, no matter what you want to see in New York, or where you want to visit, you can make it happen with a few clicks and without permanent damage to your bank account!
